Ultra-wide angle with autofocus for Sony E-mount
The Samyang AF 14mm f / 2.8 FE is made for use on Sony's mirrorless full frame cameras with E-mount, but will also work perfectly on models with APS-C sensor. The lens has autofocus compatible with both contrast detection and phase detection.
Build quality is excellent, with metal barrel and a fixed hood that prevents stray light from hitting the front lens element. However, the fixed hood also means that the lens lacks a filter thread.
The optical design consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical elements to provide maximum sharpness across the image even at large apertures. Ultra Multi Coating minimzes the risk of reflexes, flare and ghosting and ensures high image contrast.
